Vocation and passion in musicians from all over Europe

An orchestra in Ravenna composed of young talented musicians

Renowned throughout Europe as an orchestra for young Europeans, the YMEO represents a successful orchestral formation based in Ravenna at the behest of the artistic director Paolo Olmi and connected to the main musical institutions in London, namely the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra and the Guildhall School of Music Orchestra.
Managed and curated by Cooperativa Emilia-Romagna Concerti, the Young Musicians European Orchestra has been able to distinguish itself for the high quality of its productions and co-production of major events as well as live music performances, both in Italy and abroad.
A particular peculiarity of this musical training is the rigorous selection of young people from all over Europe and many other non-European countries; talents range from 15 to 28 years old and they all have a common characteristic: they are all lovers of musical culture and are moved by an innate passion for the emotion that music is able to instil. If you want to organise a cultural or live music show in your city, the Young Musicians European Orchestra is the right solution for you: contact our office by phone or fill in the form on the Contact page for more information.

Some of the main concerts performed

In 2007, the Young Musicians European Orchestra made its debut for the first time in the city of Ravenna, specifically for the Easter concert at the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe, also filmed by RAI, a sign of the importance and relevance of the event.
In 2008 and 2009 the Young Musicians European Orchestra also paid tribute to the victims of the attack of 11th September 2001 in a commemorative concert held in Rome. Two years later, the orchestra returned to its hometown to perform a concert for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

Christmas Concerts

From 2011, the Young Musicians European Orchestra mainly focussed on Christmas Concerts for Ravenna - Bethlehem, with the main objective of raising awareness among young people for a beneficial approach to music. It is thanks to this that, in 2013, the orchestra had the honour of performing at the Church of the Nativity, in Bethlehem, one of the main pilgrimage destinations in the Holy Land.
Two years later, the Young Musicians European Orchestra partnered with Matera, performing live in the Sassi Auditorium, starting a fruitful tradition of Christmas concerts in the capital of Basilicata.
