Born
in Granada into a family of musicians, he studied at the Royal Superior
Conservatory de Música "Victoria Eugenia" of Granada, the
Barenboim-Said Foundation in Seville and at the Guildhall School of
Music & Drama in London, where he graduated with honors. As a
violinist Ignacio Programa Andaluz para Jóvenes intérpretes (OJA), the
Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE) and the Britten-Pears Program
in England. Winner of numerous competitions he was recipient of many
Scholarships (Ministry of Culture of Andalusia, Ministry of Culture of
Spain, City of London and Aldeburgh Musica Scholarship Fund (United
Kingdom) and the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, United
States). During his career he has held concerts in Italy, Spain, the
United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Morocco,
Lithuania, Poland and Germany under the direction of Pedro Halffter,
Pablo Gonzalez, Jean Jacques Kantorow, Enrique Mazzola, Vasily Petrenko,
Paolo Olmi, Arturo Tamayo, Michael Thomas, Sir John Eliot Gardiner,
Juan de Udaeta, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Colin Davis, and Daniel
Barenboim. He studied conducting with Sian Edwards, Algis Zaboras and
Paolo Olmi. At the same time he receives advice from famous masters such
as Vasily Petrenko and Sir Colin Davis in various courses and master
classes. As an assistant to Paolo Olmi, Alberto Zedda and Pedro Halffter
he worked at the Barbican Hall in London (United Kingdom), the National
Opera Theater in Bordeaux (France), the Bonci Theater in Cesena, the
Savonlinna Opera Festival (Finland), the Palacio de la Ópera de A Coruña
and the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville in productions by Madame
Butterfly by Puccini, Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, Il Barbiere di
Siviglia, Ermione and Semiramide by Rossini, LA Bohème by Puccini, La
Traviata by Verdi and Thaïs by Massenet with singers like Jennifer
Rowley, Nino Machaidze, Leah Crocetto, Angela Meade, Marianna Pizziolato
and Plácido Domingo. He conducted the Orchestra of the Bicentennial,
Orchestra City of Almería, Orchestra Sinfónica of Málaga, Orchestra of
the FIMA, the Orchestra MelkArt (Spain), The soloists of London (United
Kingdom) the Young Musicians European Orchestra (Italy), the
Philharmonic Orchestra by Rivne and the Orchestra of (Ukraine). He
recently conducted Verdi's Requiem Mass in the Cathedral of Jaén in
front of 2,000 people with enormous success. From 2017 Ignacio is the
artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Jaén
and from 2018 of the Young Musicians European Orchestra. Compensation:
2000 € per year.
